Ebbw Vale RFC have been wound up at London's High Court over a tax bill of £6,000 following a petition by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.

thats a real shame and only oweing £6000,how do football clubs keep going oweing 100s of thousands?
can anyone tell me what top welsh players are associated or played for ebbw vale rfc.

hope they mange to keep going in some capacity.

recognise more names there than i thought i would.allan bateman he was a great player.

im amazed a club with such a history has gone to the wall for £6000 must be more to it than that.

For some clubs £6k is steep, for Ebbw Vale the financial backers are no longer there as they once used to be. Its sad, but the club will be under a slightly different name next season.

Six grand is bugger all FFS, Most people have a higher limit then that on their credit card.

Its not a big club like it used to be, relegation last year hit them hard.
They couldnt even afford to drop their ticket prices, they were still £9 which was what was paid when they was in the premiership, most Division 1 teams like Newbridge etc. charged a 5er.

I can understand the club not having much money, but could they not have a whip round some of their ex-players who are pro/retired?
Get each to lend a couple of hundred quid and then stick a plaque in the clubhouse singing their praises

Good shout, start with Kingsley, he can give us some russian money lol

All the money people left the Vale long ago during the regionalisation period. Sad to see, im sure some fundraising could have gone on to clear the debt.
