Donald out injured with back issue

yeah big blow, Accidents do happen but to me that looked like a deliberate knee from a sharks player. Shame because he has been building some good form the injury came just after he made a clean line break and he is good in wet conditions.

That article also point out Romana Graham, Ben May and Isaac Ross as injured. But I saw hika Elliot limping off the field with an arm over a trainers sholder and a painful look on his face.

Ben May looked the worst as he hobbled around on cruches after the game and the worst part is he is the third Prop to join the injured list.

Chiefs have some big games coming up, their season could be all but over by the time Donald is back. Echo's of last year when injuries decimated the tight 5 and they ended up bottom half of the table. 2009 they didn't have too many injuries and they made the final and were 1 point from being at the top of the table.

A loss for the Chiefs, but a big chance for Delany to push his case for All Black selection later in the year. It will be interesting whether the Chiefs call up Trent Renata from their wider training squad to cover Delany from the bench, or simply have Nanai-Williams covering first-five (as they did in week one when Delany was injured).

They will surely call up Renata with Williams already covering for mills at fullback. Will be interesting who gets called up to play prop/hooker too.

Big chance for Delany, the Chiefs are really lucky to have two international players covering such a vital position... I think that by the end of the season Donald will be covering for Delany.

As for the front row situation i'm hoping that deMalmanche gets a go at prop.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they will call up Renata and have him training with the squad, and agree it would be logical to have Renata on the bench. However, it would not surprise me to see Sweeney and Willison on the bench, with Sweeney moving to fullback and Nanai-Williams moving to 10 if Delany gets injured...

In terms of who will be called up to play prop, you would imagine that Simon Lemalu would be the first choice given he is in the wider training squad. He has certainly got the experience to cope at this level. If they decide that de Malmanche is the best option to cover prop, we might see both him and Dan Perrin on the bench.

sad news for the duck personally but all black supporters are celebrating... hopefully no more black duck.. his game against the wallabies in hk last november was way too painful....

i'm not. Of the 4 main backup contenders for Dan carter two are on the injured list and the other has been relegated to the bench with some suspect form.

best thing for the AB's is if all the options are fit and firing.

He isn't an option though, thought he had proved that once and for all on last year's tour. Was in the best form I've ever seen him in the ITM then hopeless for AB's. He isn't up to it so it's good that Delaney will get a decent crack at it now.

Cruden has been treated poorly by Hammet. First game he didn't play too well but bear in mind the forwards got hammered and Nonu spent half the game on the sideline. Then a massive lay-off and starting alongside Hayward the rookie (still was 100% with kicks). Getting dropped after that is so harsh. Donald did go over him for the try but after seeing Kirkpatrick's awful defence against the Blues I don't think he would've stopped Donald either. Kirkpatrick is fine as a player but we all know his limits, whereas Cruden has far more ability. All he can do is kick and pass, he will never set a game alight which Cruden has the ability to do. Just needs a constant string of games which he hasn't had since before he was picked for the AB's. How is he meant to build into any form when he hasn't had a chance to play week in week out.

Rant over apologies.
