From an outsider it loos like the ACB, whilst the team was all conquering and beating pretty much everyone, didn't want to face the eventuality of "these guys can't go on forever you know" and didn't set up the system to produce the next generation. Theyre doing that now, these guys are not in the same league (not many are) but there's some useful players and like in any sport you cannot write off an Australian sporting team.
