Stunned by what's happened. Best wishes to everyone. I think there was a thread about the September earthquake on this forum, but there didn't seem to be many worries.
A Scottish seismologist on UK tv said the system is not in the ring of fire but part of the alpine mountain formation running through the islands, and that the combination of tremors over the past six months is a freak occurrence. Good news is that the aftershocks are travelling away from Christchurch.
Will they have to tear down the centre of the city?
Will it affect the RWC?
