Chat rooms

Just talking on MSN to Zonerunner whilst doing my work, and we got onto the topic of chat rooms, such as Yahoo chat. The last time I used to use any of these chatrooms was in about 2000 when I used to go on a proper wind up.

Anyone used them? Anyone still use them? Or has the advent of forums killed them off?

Now that you mention it, forums probably have killed off chatrooms somewhat.
4 year was probably the last time I was on a chatroom and that was to also wind up people with my mates. We took great joy it somehow...

Besides that I've noticed people in SA are not part of the whole chatroom/internet discussion craze. As evidence on this forum. The biggest gathering of internet going Saffa's is probably keo.co.za.
Having THE most expensive internet rates in the world probably has something to do with it.

Last time about 2004 with the wind up with my mates yes. I think the aus government got all protective about chatlines and put bans on them?? not sure
