A colleague and I need some help. Why is it that Wales essentially have 'home' games in Cardiff? Firstly, why is the stadium being used at all? Second, if it's being used due to shortage of other venues why give Wales an advantage by letting them play there?

Wales backed England, just like they backed France for 2007.

oki I'll answer this as it's easy. Firstly, England have won the rights to the world cup, being as they are, so close to the other British nations and their stadiums, it was obvious that some of them might want to hold their own pool matches there. Secondly, the Millenium Stadium is about a mile from my house and it is easily the best rugby stadium in the world, it has a roof that can close :D the only downside is the pitch, but that has been improved recently to include artificial grass. Wales's group games are in Cardiff, why is that a problem? It's a fine UK city, whose assistance in the world cup is greatly appreciated.

Als if you have any other issues with Cardiff, let me know.

Cardiff is ostensibly in Wales... Although Wales is actually in England.

I think someone said there was some sort of deal due to the 1999 world cup in place.

Ultimately though it's good for money revenue's the two games being played there are Uruguay and Fiji which may have struggled to sell out elsewhere. Their two big matches are at Twickers...so home advantage is little quelled where it matters.

Not that I'm kidding myself I strongly suspect Twickers Vs Aus may well feel like a home match as I suspect most of the crowd will be Welsh.

Just quick 1 for Welsh guys?
I've been to Cardiff Millennium Stadium 10 times or so but never seen much touting as I was with Munster or had a ticket for Irish games. But they were saying last night it's got very bad over there for touts and has harmed experience a bit. Is that true or what? I've never seen this and well always rate the stadium as 1 of if not the best for international rugby.
