The Brumbies have confirmed that Wallaby flanker David Pocock has signed a three-year deal with the Super Rugby franchise.

It's not the end of the world. This is effectively the first real cleanout in the club's history. It's just the same cycle the Reds and Brumbies have recently been through.
It's all a matter now of whether or not rugbyWA gets it's act together and rebuilds properly. Up and coming coaches with a passion for Australian rugby is what we need. Ewan McKenzie has been so successful with the Reds partly due to all the time he spends on recruiting talent from the local comps. (him and his team). So start with the coaches and then find the players for once, not the other way round.
Yeah, shocking for the Force. They've just had no luck with retaining good players. Pocock, Giteau, O'Connor, Drew Mitchell, Nalaga, Cameron Shepherd all players they've lost or are going to lose by next season. It will leabe them with just Ben McCalman, Richard Brown, Matt Hodgson and Sam Nortson-Knight (lol) as their only internationals, none of whom are regular Wallabies.
Eastern RSA Force? :lol:well this is a real opportunity for many South African players who can't get the nod in SA to go to the Force...
Who Knows, we could actually have a 6th SA team in next year's tournament.
It's not all doom and gloom.
The tight 5 is solid, with the departure of Sharpie hopefully they inject a big name or two in the off season.
We have some up and coming backrowers (ie: Cottrell, McCaffrey) to join Hodgo who generally plays as well as Pocock for us.
For the first time in years we actually have depth in the #10 position. Ebersohn, Goodwin (who will be 20 next season), NK and Seymour.
Centres are the real weakness relative to other clubs at the moment. Sidey, Dellit and Tupou don't really offer enough competition for each other, we really need some more quality and depth here.
Outside backs are coming through nicely. I reckon Cummins is as good as any winger in the country right now (watch for him in the quad nations). Mafi had a breakthrough season and we are still yet to see Rapana (the NRL player) who got injured before game 1 2012. Not to mention Wara is a handy player to have in the mix.
For once our entire budget wont be tied up in the backrow and if the administrators stop monumentally farking up we should see something interesting out west in 2013. (Probably a bit harsh on them as we are the least attractive province for players in the super15, but even they have admitted their performance needs to improve if we are to get our **** sorted)
having four ok players in one position does not give you depth
Eastern RSA Force?
Yeah sucks for the Force. I guess this means more kiwis will be Wallabies by the end of next season if the ARU is to continue its pattern.
