Wow, a re-styled team. Pity to see Haskell leave as he was one of those players I loved to see play for SF. Where is Mauro heading to? Metro, would be good to see him reunited with his bro.

On a side note how is the case against SF going? Will they lose their license or will it be a monster fine?

Think that case just blew over
From what I understand the cash was there, but the rules stated that it had to be coming to them from a business within France, whereas at the time it was coming from Canada - this has been rectified now though

I believe Mauro is going back to Italy (I'd imagine Treviso)

Yeah, they had to create a french subsidiary of the canadian company, to be able to inject the money in the Stade Français.

Strange move to get Laussucq as coach for the backs, when he was coach for the forwards for Brive.

As for Bastareaud, there is a big struggle going on since yesterday between SF and Toulon, both wanting the player and going public about it, calling names at one another etc.. even Bastareaud's lawyer released a speech saying that Bastareaud wanted to leave for Toulon, and didn't want to create a clash between the two clubs (too late for this anwyay).
It would be mad to keep the player in Paris if he wants to leave anyway, since he won't do any effort during the season if he's kept against his will.

Bastareaud also wore a Toulon sock against Wales for the Barbarians last Saturday. I think he will end up in Toulon.

Francisco Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro signs for Stade Français

Francisco Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro signs for Stade Français

http://rugbyworldcup-argentina2023.blogspot.com/2011/06/francisco-nahuel-tetaz-chaparro-signs.html

He is uncapped, from Argentina. A 21 year old bound to make Los Pumas. He was in Los Pampas XV in the Vodacom Cup. Played in the 2009 IRB Junior World Championship. Linking up with Rodrigo Roncero is going to do the kid wonders.

Another Argentine prop, Pedro Ledesma, is leaving Stade Français for retirement. He played twice for Argentina in 2007 and 2008 but was never good enough to compete with Roncero, Scelzo, Ayerza at co. He´s the younger brother of Mario Ledesma.

Surely 22 or 21?

Interesting to see Ledesma has retired.

Dear lord :p
I'm assuming you meant to say 21?....if not that kid is one hell of a unit ;)

why didn't Ledesma find a club in ProD2 or something instead of retiring?

was he long term injured?

38yrs old, he's had a good innings in rugby,
Maybe he just wanted to take up coaching?

There are two Ledesma´s.

1. Mario Ledesma - going to be 38 and hooker at the World Cup. Offered a job coaching Stade Français and took it.

2. Pedro Ledesma - 12 years younger but retiring too. He had knee surgery which kept himout for 10 months before returning in December 2010. Before that he had another knee injury in playing only his second testmatch of his career in 2008. He made his test debut Argentina vs Italy in 2008 as he replaced the injured Martín Scelzo. Unfortunately for Pedro Ledesma he himself was injured in his second test and forced to leave the field in only the eighth minute. In total he has missed over four years of potential international duty for Los Pumas due to injury. Whilst, today he is fully fit but not part of the 45 man Pumas squad.

He was doing university as well as playing pro in Paris.
