All Blacks to wear white alternate strip

I know it's always the away team that has to wear an alternate strip and to be honest the white strip looks alot better than that ugly grey strip they had on against the French during their defeat in the RWC 2007. Anyone think these are a breath of fresh air? because there's not much you can do with black and it hasn't changed much in the last century.

I reckon it'll be good ay, Definitely the grey away strip was horrible. I think the last time they wore white was against Scotland back in 2000? Our soccer team wears white and black and it looks good either way.

At first I thought you guys were going to be complaining about having to wear a change strip as you are the away team as I have seen several Kiwi fans do on the internets, now I don't get to point out that the French wore a change strip in June :(

Really though, NZ should play in black and France in blue, this blue/black french jersey is a bit shite.

All the new international kits look great. England have gone back to all white and blue socks, plus the French have got proper french blue, white shorts and red socks like they ought to. Even the irish kit looks nicer despite being made by puma. This white AB kit looks great too - doesn't have the silly 3 stripes down the side like other adidas kits.

I think that the fact we HAVE to play in blue is a bit crappy. We don't make other teams change their shirts when they play us. France wore their blue shirts in New Zealand, while we wore black, and it didn't pose a problem. That being said I don't mind the blue shirt, and neither do the AB's. I remember Cullen scoring an amazing try in his second All Blacks match wearing the white shirt against Scotland, so it holds pretty good memories. They grey shirt I thought was sh*t, so I'm glad we've gone back to the traditional white shirt instead.

France wore white in both tests during the Summer, seems now that the trend is being bucked in terms of the home team wearing the alternate strip when the jerseys clash, Ireland will be wearing white today, don't know why the French and All Blacks do things arse over ***s.

Nice alternative shirt and good to see the kit has moved on from the horrendous grey strip. I don't understand why teams have to wear alternative tops when the kits dont really clash. Its disappointing but as so many fans wish to see an alternative strip now a days it is the norm to see an alternative shirt being played in.

In fairness, it makes much more sense having the away team wear the change strip.

What I really don't like is using international teams for marketing... the fact that England wore purple against Argentina when we've historically always played in white against them; the fact that Wales wore yellow vs. Samoa... it's not right,

Why does it make much more sense for the away team to wear a change strip? I don't see how it makes any difference tbh.

The only thing i can think is the home team wearing their home colours,
Like Ireland is traditionally linked with green, all their merch, and the flags in the crowd are green, so they should wear green.
Don't really think it makes much difference though really, it's only a different coloured kit, shouldn't make any difference to the team

Nah the home team should change strip IMO. Shows one of the gentlemanly aspects of Rugby Football somehow.

As much as i can remember, it's only in football that the away team always the alternate strip. I know the home nations nearly always wear their alternate strips when it comes down to one of the two teams needing a strip change.
I like the idea of the home team changing: we're the host, we're the ones that should accomodate the visiting teams.

I don't know. If rugby was all about two teams standing at a door saying "After you", "No, no. After yoooou", I'd agree. Home advantage needs to be all it can be really.

You can look at the whole host guest thing many ways. A host should be a good host, but a guest must always be a polite guest.

I know that the All Blacks don't think a whole bunch about the French having changed to the darker, almost Scotland-esque strip, but they just get on with business. It's a bit like Ireland changing to a deep dark forest green, they'd never do that, as they seem to have pride in their national colours and good on them for that.

What I dont understand is why teams like Ireland & France have gone away from their traditional colours.???

I thought the All Blacks looked pretty good in their white kit and it shows who's doing all the work and who's just out there for a cup of tea haha. I wonder if they'll ever sell them in the shops because I'd go out and get one just because it's different to most Black kits everyone wears around.

the way rugby kits are changing these say annoys the **** out of me. the only reason rugby, or any sporting teams for that matter, have different colored clothes is so they're distinguishable from each other and the reason they have a set colored kit is so they're identifiable as a certain team. obviously if you have a kit that is similar to one of the teams you regularly play against then one of you needs to change for those games (eg. if england were playing fiji - both all white jerseys) - hence the need for some teams to have alternate strips. if a team’s kit doesn't clash with other teams (eg. australia) they have no need for an alternate strip (hence, we don't have one...).
the craze in europe is to have a home jersey, an away jersey, AND a heineken cup jersey!! they all seem to change their f***ing jerseys every year and i honestly can't recognise them anymore. i look at a jersey/kit and it looks so different from the original color and style that i can't even recognise what team it belongs to. that goes in direct contrast to the main reason that teams have set kits SO THEY ARE IDENTIFIABLE. It’s got to stop. teams should have one jersey, unless they have a clash of colors in which case they should have an alternate and only wear it when it’s required!
