The All Blacks nomination follows a landmark year, winning 13 from 14 tests, claiming the Investec Tri Nations with a clean sweep, and marching through Europe to win their fourth touring Grand Slam.
A ballot was held by the world's media, and the winners will be announced in Abu Dhabi on February 7.
The All Blacks will be pitted against the World Cup Spanish football team, Inter Milan, winners of the Champions League, the ***le winning NBA Champions' the Los Angeles Lakers, the Formula One winning Red Bull team, and the European Ryder Cup golf team.
It is the third time the All Blacks have been nominated for the category.
