Just wondering how everyone else thinks the new Italian teams will do? I think they'll struggle, maybe get a result against connacht or Newport.

Not watched much ML recently have you?

They will struggle in there first few years but they wont be getting any results against newport because newport aren't in the Magners League. But if you mean the Dragons then they won't be getting any result from these games other than a loss. Like Cymro said, have you been watching much Magners League recently? Because the Dragons were arguably the most in form team in the Magners League last season and punched well above their weight, they are on the rise and a very good side

Inform I dunno ... but punching above their weight for sure. With the signings they have made already they are looking good to do the same next year also.

Arioni have signed a few very good players. I think they will fare better than Treviso and could surprise many people.

Ok maybe a slight exaggeration them being the most in form side but for large parts of the season they played very well and played some really exciting attacking rugby. They were also a force to be reckoned with at the parade comfortably beating imo a full strength Ospreys side. Most importantly theres a fair few welsh players that make up the side and they always give the young welsh talent a chance. I think they were unfairly overlooked in terms of selection for the new zealand tour albeit the likes of Gavin Thomas and Will Harries are now involved due to injuries.

Yep 100% you look at some of those players in the squad Tovey and Wayne Evans for example should be on tour with Wales. You often feel Gatland overlooks the region so hopefully in the coming months the perception might change.

Who have Aironi signed bristol-ian? I wish the italian sides all the best as im part italian myself. Just think it will take some time for them to settle in and establish themselves but they will definitely improve and be competitive i'm sure

YeahI have seen some magners league recently, I was just trying to think of any teams that might struggle away from home in Italy. I think that the two Italian teams have some pretty good players but depends whether they can gel as a team.

Scarlets for me have a load of potential but the coaching staff have not a clue there. I see them pretty much doing the same as they did this season. The Blues if they are not careful could slip up I feel also.

fairplay there are few decent signings amongst them and a fair few stick out. Perugini, Bortalami, Tebaldi, and Robertson in particular. All the best to them, just hope they don't perform too well against the Dragons!

They'll struggle to get to mid table in the first few season but will get slowly better. After a few years they'll be about the same level as the Scottish teams I think.

Celtic rugby are hoping that Italian TV get involved more in the long run. That means more money because Italy is mulitple times bigger than Ireland, Scotland and Wales put togethar.

Depends on viewer-ship more than the size of a country.

They probably will struggle early on but hopefully this will help the Italian team in the long run.

I'm excited to see what these teams can do. This is a big, big bonus for Italian Rugby. Not only will it get more players top flight experience but it will give the people in Italy more exposure to our grander version of Football.
They will be hard pressed to get good results against some of the best teams in the northern hemisphere.
