The extent of my boredom in an English lecture. I thought I would write a short ode to my love of watching rugby in the style of the poetry I was supposed to be studying. Please enjoy/criticise as appropriate:

<div align="center">A Rugby Supporter’s Lament

When toiling props, grunt and sweat,
Ruck, scrum, maul, a powerful threat.
When neck-less hookers push and throw,
Trundling onwards they will go.
When mountainous locks soar like kites,
Making threats and starting fights.
When crafty flankers stray offside,
Put hands on ball and tackle with pride.
When rampaging 8s carry the ball,
Striking fear to opposition, one and all.
Urging them forward I will be,
Arguing with the referee.

When scrum halves, miniature generals become,
Order their forwards, beat the drum.
When gliding fly halves show their class.
Pivot, scissor, dummy pass.
When centres duck and bob and weave,
Or crash past tackles and through gaps cleave.
When wingers t’wards the corner fly,
And viewing women swoon and sigh.
When fullbacks crunching tackles make,
And flying wingers’ bones they break.
There on the sideline I will be,
Pint in hand, celebrating victory.</div>

As long as you credit me at the bottom and provide a link to the forum. It's all about advertising...

Sir, we are now firmly in the doffing zone (as signalled by this handy & informative sign)

Tilley hat removed accordingly.

Exceedingly good ones.

Anyway, I was bored at work this afternoon so I had a bash at one myself;

If you can run with all your heart and will to cross the try line,
Even if your path is blocked and it feels just to far,
If you can fight your rival and be hurt or scarred by them,
Yet still have the respect to buy them a drink in the bar,
If you can be fifteen down with tem minutes to go,
But not give up and keep fighting on,
If you can battle and give everything you’ve got,
Spurred on by the crowd singing your song,
If you can win being humble and with dignity,
Yet still be noble and proud in defeat,
If you can be injured and spill your own blood for your team mates,
Yet still want to be there when all you have is heart and Deep Heat,
If you can cut a line and earn the hard yards,
But still pass to your fellow, not stealing all the glory for yourself,
If you can survive the desperate final minute,
To hold your defence up until the game is won,
Yours are the Gardens and everything in them,
And, what is more, you’ll be a Saint my son…

Lame rip off? maybe. Cool? Definately.

You still have far to go my young padawan ;)

I'm sure Rudyard would be honoured though. Despite him being more impressed with mine because it rhymes :p
