3 Wishes???

2011 is upon us - the wait is almost over.

Besides wants the team you support to win the big prize at Eden Park what else is desirable in Rugby World Cup year???

Here are my three wishes for 2011 - all RWC wishes

1. A new champion. A new name on the RWC. Perhaps Argentina, France or Ireland?

2. A first time side to make the Quarter Finals. Italy loom as the only candidate.

3. An interesting pool with three teams all winnig three mathces and two going through to the QF´s based on points difference. Pool B with Argentina, England and Scotland could provide this?

They seem pretty conservative.

I mean, France should do well. A QF is guaranteed and a Semi likely.

Montpellier - well you certainly know more than I do but they look really settled. Do you think they will make the top 4?

Got to echo your first 2:

A new champion - I'd love us (Wales) to shock the world and win the World Cup
Italy to reach QF's - Firstly because I'm part Italian and I'd love Italy to go as far as possible and secondly because I really felt for them when they were denied a quarter final spot in 2007 when Scotland pipped them 18-16 to claim the group runner-up spot, it really could've gone either way.
Wales to get a less difficult team in the QF (assuming they get out of the group)

Fiji - why Fiji?

Given the recent performances by France it is not guarateed at all that we could advance to the semis given that we will likely play England or Argentina in the QFs...

Montpellier: making the top 4 will be really difficult. everybody knows what they do and how to beat them now, and the calendar is insane. However a a place in the top 6 is certainly to be expected.

Fiji: I was the interpretor for the U20 Fiji team last year in Japan, I know the coaches etc, so they are my 2nd team to support.
