2023-2024 transfers

Good move for Copeland. Things never really happened for him at Munster after he came back to Ireland. Connaught are looking for an 8 and he's going to get a consistent run of games which will do him a lot of good.

Jamie Roberts to Bath confirmed.

How I feel about it depends on his salary. Get that right, and he's a good player to start next season, and for the 3 youngsters to learn from, none of who are ready to be first choice yet; certainly an upgrade on Willison as a starter; and I'd rather have Jamie than Te'o

Really? I think most quins fans have seen him as deadweight for a while. He is a bit one dimensional and I feel like bath have been screwed over if Tapuai and Roberts are on similiar salaries

Different clubs have different needs; though my approval still depends on the salary. Local journal thinks we've got him at a steal of a price, which helps.

As far as fitting for Bath is concerned, what we lack in the back line is a bosher. We've been trying to use Taps for that, and it just doesn't suit him. Meanwhile we've got 3 kids coming through who are a couple of years off being ready, somsomeone to hold the starting shirt whilst they come off the bench, and tonfade out over a second season may be best for our long-term development

I guess we'll see... What is it that makes you prefer him over Teo

Ego.
At club level, I think Te'o is out for Ben Te'o, and goes missing far too often - now he's got his feet under the table, he seems to think that it's beneath him (though he may only think that for Worcester). Not a man I would want with me in the trenches.
On top of that, he'll likely be available more as he seems to have dropped off the Wales radar
Beyond that, Roberts is better at his one dimension than Te'o, who's not exactly the most versatile of players. He's also a better defender, and barely worse at passing the ball as and when he can be convinced to do so.
He's also more of a leader, which Bath seem to lack currently.

Ben Franks to Saints confirmed, don't know where that leaves Paul Hill though even with Brookes leaving he'll be second fiddle, unless Franks plays LH, leaving Waller out...

Charnley to Warrington wolves

Not surprised to see him go back to league, didn't really take to union well and was behind McGuigan and yarde on the left wing.
Little surprised he's gone to Warrington, He's Wigan through and through and has multiple tattoos of his time at Wigan.

Cassiem from Cheetahs to Scarlets. Cheetahs now having to contend with losing top players to Pro14 sides as well as their Super Rugby neighbours.

A handy player and a solid signing for the Scarlets in my opinion.

How ******* serious must the training ground punch up have been for Tigers to allow a first choice lock to leave with 5 must-win league games remaining?

I realise that he'd have been leaving at the end of the season anyway, but to let him go early without an equal or better replacement lined up would be mental.

I have now heard from elsewhere too. Hardly first choice though. With Spencer coming in and Wells improving he was always gonna struggle. We're also blessed at development and academy level.

I'm talking about right now.

Tbh I'm not really all that bothered about him leaving at the end of the season but it just seems crazy that such a crucial player could be allowed to leave at the end of March.

I wonder if he's further away from recovering from his neck injury than was previously believed.

Kyle Godwin to Connacht is confirmed, not that I'd heard about it in advance
