Even with Rettalick injured easy bonus point win for the Chiefs. The Kings don't even have 1 senior capped Spring Bok, this team needs a lot of work.

true... but stranger things have happened.

They did beat the Crusaders 2 years ago at this venue...

I just made Mckenzie my captain for the weekend because it should be a thrashing. The Kings just got liquidated earlier today as well.

Actually I think it was the Highlanders in 2013 wasn't it? That was the terrible Highlanders season with Ma'a Nonu.

Chiefs have completely changed their front row, after that poor showing vs the Lions. Michael Leitch is back though, so that's a big boost for them. So what's the future of the Kings going to be with liquidation?

I'm deciding between Lealiifano and McKenzie to captain and 1 to kick.

Actually, EP Rugby Union was provisionally liquidated. EPRU owns the Kings franchise... So its a bit bigger than just the Kings.

So what are the other options? Maybe a 2nd Argentinian team.

The team has been taken over by SARU for now, I don't think SARU is going to be interested in losing one of its franchises to another country. To be fair, I don't think the Kings would be too bad if it weren't for the politics and poor management of the franchise. There is a desire for rugby in that region, I just don't think they care about a useless, corrupt team. If the franchise was properly run I think they could do decently with that region.

As Saulan has said, SARU has taken over already, even before the Super Rugby started. All the Kings players are contracted with SARU now so they are not in danger of the liquidation process. I think it's a plan to get more players to sign directly with SARU than the unions.

Hopefully the filth that is Cheeky Watson will be removed when this is all done and his corrupt ways.

Well that's good to hear they're surviving. For the sake of the competition I hope more players sign on for the SARU as well, I don't like to see everyone going to Europe chasing the big dollars.

The Kings might have finished last a few seasons ago, but they weren't completely useless at all, they were competitive in a lot of their matches. Depending how the draw goes they could pick up wins vs the Reds and Sun Wolves this year. But the team definitely needs some better recruits to become a serious addition.

Guys i still think a team that couldn't even make into the premier division of the currie cup on their own, and then throw in the corruption of their CEO or whatever cheeky is and you have a recipe for failure. Even Saru has failed the province. Why could they not sign SP Marais and Tim Whitehead? these guys are good enough to be future springboks and now they haven't even been paid their salaries for a few months. These are quality rugby players sitting at home and watching the rugby on tv. The sharks let Marais use their gym to stay in shape because the kings didnt even have a training schedule. Not playing competitively due to external factors is a shame.

The Chiefs front 3 are completely terrible and with Rettalick injured their scrums not even challenging the Kings. The Chiefs are going to have to win this in the backs.

McKenzie is such a good player, but there's areas of his game he really needs to tighten up. Still a rough diamond, should give him a run in the All Blacks and sharpen him up.

The Kings make errors you would be mad at school kids making, inexcusable for professionals. They have some positives to their game like some of their forward play, but overall it seems like a bunch of amateurs thrown together.
