Its funny with the way the logo's are placed the Cheetah is running away from and wants no part of a rampant brumby. Prophetic?

I hear the Bulls are making noises of signing Lood de Jager. Then the Cheetahs' loss of the classy class of '13 will be complete. SARU really needs to do something to help teams like the Cheetahs keep their best and keep helping the Kings develop (while recruiting better? or is this a really-really long term project). The top 4 are finding life difficult enough with NH market forces. The Cheetahs and Kings havn't a chance.

It's just noise at the moment. Until we see something more concrete, I'll take a keen interest.

But the Bulls have been busy with their signings. First they got SP Marais, then yesterday they signed Renaldo Bothma, and now the talks about Lood... Seems like there's a plan in place.

Why are some of the matches in SA so poorly attended?

You are from Namibia, you must to know because Namibia is like a South African state. A guy from SA said that the average crowd for Cheetahs games is 17k, similar than any NZ team but they play in a big stadium (40k)

I've heard travel distance, coupled with poor public transport is an issue at some games and the people who take their cars often find themselves in traffic jams due to the poor public transport infrastructure and given the SA urban sprawl it can take up to 4-5 hours just getting to and from games, so it becomes a mammoth long task just attending a game. For the Spring Bok and play-off games people obviously find it worth while, but probably not for a regular league game, unless it's an exciting derby or crucial match.

Yeah but in this case rugby supporters from Bloemfontein have not excuses. The city has almost 300k of population and the province has almost 3 millions of population. But in the other side, we must to say that the Stormers is the team with the huge crowd in the competition with an average crowd of 40k per game. The other issue is that the SA's teams play in HUGE stadiums, all the SA stadiums have a capacity of 40k or more. While in NZ, just Canes and Blues play in big stadiums, the others franchises play in small stadiums. 17k Cheetahs supporters would look great in Dunedin, Christchurch or Waikato

Take a look at the Auckland Blues mate, their turn outs last year were pitiful and that is in a city of 1.5m + and a country where the sport dominants all others. Turn outs are relative to a teams success in most cases, smaller communities generally have a tighter support base that will attend no matter the results, but in the bigger centers you will get less turn out when things aren't looking good, I imagine the Blues if they continue to get poor results will end up getting low attendance again soon enough.

Well done, Matt!

I can't watch the game atm sadly because of work. How's Carter looking? He got a yellow card, I have him in my SuperBru team and how is Lealiifano, Kirindrani and Moore playing?

Kuridrani just made a knock-on. This is not his day. Toomua is kicking the conversions ATM Moore is ok for me. Is not the best Brumbies version but is enough to beat the Cheetahs in their home. In the second half the Cheetahs set pieces is dominating so far, so is not a good game for Carter IMO

Thanks for the info, has De Jager dominated Carter? It must be 3 tries to 1? So maybe just a 4 pointer for the Brumbies. Good news for Landers top of the tables hopes.
