Venue: Loftus Versfeld
Time: 15:00 CAT (SA, GMT+2)

The Bulls looked so ineffectual that I am almost tempted to entertain the Rebels taking it but surely at home the Bulls should have too much? The pack need to man up as a unit and whoever is going to do duty at 9 needs to pick it up as well!

Rebels my dark horse this season but Bulls at home...
Even odds I reckon

I don't care who wins (no I lie, the Rebels better win) but I just hope to see Reece Hodge kick a penalty from within the Rebels 22 :)

Bulls
15 Warrick Gelant , 14 Travis Ismaiel, 13 Jan Serfontein, 12 Burger Odendaal, 11 Bjorn Basson, 10 Francois Brummer, 9 Rudy Paige, 8 Arno Botha, 7 Jannes Kirsten, 6 Nic de Jager, 5 Grant Hattingh, 4 RG Snyman, 3 Marcel van der Merwe, 2 Adriaan Strauss (captain), Trevor Nyakane
Substitutes: 16 Jaco Visagie, 17 Lizo Gqoboka, 18 Hencus van Wyk, 19 Jason Jenkins, 20 Roelof Smit, 21 Piet van Zyl, 22 Tian Schoeman, 23 Dries Swanepoel

I have a feeling the Rebels may sneak a win here. Bulls were woeful last week, Gelant and co. seemed to be playing within themselves. I do however like Odendaal in the lineup, just a pity it had to come at Kriel's expense.

After the first half I thought the Bulls might wrack up 70 points here, but to their credit the Rebels stayed positive and didn't give up. They were never going to win it, but scoring 4 tries in the second half was certainly no mean feet after what they copped in the first.

The bulls let themselves down with that second half. Losing a bonus point like that should be worrying to the coach. Handling was bad in the second half from the Bulls especially Serfontein he knocked it on so much!
Still a win is a win and quite a big one at that. Bulls coach proclaimed before the match that the rebels are favourites. http://www.sport24.co.za/Rugby/SuperRugby/bulls-coach-rebels-are-favourites-20160304
What was that about? to get his players motivated? Was he sincere?

The Bulls don't get a bonus point win because it was 6 tries to 4.. wow this idiotic new bonus point system is a joke. Asking teams who have already got the game in the bag to defend with their lives on the line until the dying minutes to get a bonus point is just stupid.

Yeah I seriously don't get it. If bonus points are supposed to encourage positive play then both sides deserve them - the game had 10 tries FFS.

Exactly, and this is the Southern Hemisphere, no offense to the NH but we don't need to "promote" attacking rugby down this end.

Edit: Best highlight of the match hahahah;

bugger, disappointing result for us, if only Thompson hadn't botched that try.... who knows

it was worth watching the game to see the ball kicked up the bulls players butt :) still unsure how that actually happened

I'm just glad we got the win. It would have been pretty tough as a Bulls fan to stay motivated if we lost our first 2 matches 2 years in a row. And with this heatwave, I admire the fans who went to the game. I heard from one of my friends that they announced that the temperature was 36 degrees Celcius just before kick-off.

Still a lot of improvement to be made, but happy to see what we can do.

I thought our forwards' handling skills were pretty awesome!

That's a fair point, apart from a few fumbles the bulls forwards skills have evolved from the pick and drive pods of the old days. Oedendaal or however you spell it was again a headache for our defence.

Odendaal.

Apart from that rattail he has, he's one of my favourite players. He's at the moment playing better than Serfontein.

It's a nice headache to have for the Bulls Coach.
