Isn't this the Hobson's Choice situation that other posters have bemoaned though? If you look the choice in terms of staff recruitment, if you're "recruiting" a scrum half, you have a set of essentials and a set of desirables. The way I see it, there isn't a SH in the EPS who has a full list of essentials, Care is at least a good breaking scrum half which I would call a desirable which you could say tips the scales in his favour. Given that both player's strengths and weaknesses are well known, I don't see a problem with picking the player whose strengths are best suited to a given game or whose weaknesses are less likely to be problematic.

FWIW, maybe I've got a bit of a downer on Youngs, but I seem to have spent a fiar portion of the Six Nations screaming at him to get the ball out, then bemoaning the result when he actually does, so I'm happy with the change.
