C'mon Rebels!!! hope we can take advantage of the Reds injuries and poor form. we've never beaten the Reds and if we do, we've notched a win against each of the other aussie teams! (all time, not this season)

Wow! Fantastic try for the Force. How many passes were in that play?!?!?!!?

How serious is the QC's injury?

Not sure - I don't think we will find out until it has been fully assessed by the doctor (after the match).

The Rebels with a narrow lead with 10 mins to go. If Luke Burgess's passing wasn't completely rubbish he could be Australia's starting halfback - he looks fantastic running the ball!

I've been very impressed with Colby Faingaa with match (and McMahon once he came on). Higginbotham is still rubbish though.....

EDIT: Red for Ed (O'Donoghue). Looks like he will miss the next few weeks with suspension, and he has undoubtedly cost the Reds the match. That will teach him right for sticking his fingers in someones eyes. Filthy ****.

Absolutly needless from EOD, hope he and Deysel get long long bans.

I agree. I can understand why someone would want to eye gouge Higginbotham (I know I do!), but surely professional rugby players should have some self control ;)

Reds were very close!

Hope it's not serious, he has been very unlucky with injuries. Yeah, Burgess looks great but he's too old for the Wallaby jersey. McMahon is the Junior Wallabies captain so I expect him to be the new Michael Hooper.

Burgess is 30 - he is hardly an old man! If he is good enough there is no reason why he shouldn't be in the Wallabies - I'm just not convinced he is good enough....

McMahon looks to have a big future, but he is a blindside (or 8) rather than an openside like Hooper.

Also what thew hell has happened to Genia's running game? There were a number of times tonight when the the Genia of 2 years ago would have sniped around the rucks or at least provided some running threat these days he just passes the ball off. I know the reds forwards aren't providing a solid base but there were opportunities tonight, at this rate you can't justify Genia as a Wallaby.

Yes bud, I know McMahon is a blindside. I said: "He could be the new Hooper" in terms of performance with Wallaby jersey. Hooper has been fantastic from the first game with the Wallaby jersey, I think McMahon could be the new partner of Hooper in a few years

Just saw a clip with James Horwill claiming the ref robbed them. What an idiot. It wasn't the ref sticking his fingers in someones eyes at the end of the game.....

firstly great win by the rebels, first against the reds and a rare away win for the season. good to be on the right side of a close game for a change.

controversial weekend, I don't wish to comment on the refs action however there was a definite eye gouge and no headbutt from higginbotham which is what queenslanders seem to be trying to use as defence for a dog act.
I do feel sorry for the reds, you can see the frustration coming through in their game, horwill's comments to the ref during and after the game were just like a kid who wants to skip dinner and go straight for desert. Genia just looks like a tired, defeated man.
Quade will be missed for both the reds and the Wallabies, they are saying 4-6 weeks. I really hope he's back and firing for the rugby championship. Richard Graham must be feeling the heat now, the blame can be squarely laid with him. i mean why does his team seem to all of a sudden have a "too hard, can't be stuffed mate" attitude? it's the coaches job to motivate his troops.

for the rebels, woodward was good again, so was hegarty. hegarty's courage going for that high ball, copping knees to the ribs and still keeping control of the ball was crazy. tom kingston had a great game, i thought he was decent with the waratahs but hadn't seen any of the same form with the rebels until last night. faingaa was solid and inman was a tackle machine again. happy to see veainu get a run, he didn't get much space to run into but you can tell he has some real wheels. hopefully we can see more of him in the coming weeks.

burgess injury looked nasty, hope it's not an ACL but a player landed on the front on his knee and it hyper extended, looked ugly. Also tamati ellison seemed to go down late in the game. we may need to shuffle the backline for the waratahs. english may shift to 13 and josh holmes/ben meehan to fight out the 9 position. veainu to start on the wing unless male sau is back from japan duty, and rockobaro may come in to cover the back 3 from the bench.

dissapointed we haven't seen L.timani this year, he has been injured but where do you fit him in? faingaa and mcmahon have both been playing well as has fuglistaller, and higginbotham wont miss out.

forgot about luke jones. it will be a travesty if he's not in the 30 man squad. been playing out of his skin and deserves to be rewarded.

QC' injury: 6 weeks :(

Yeahhhh I think Luke Jones and Will Skelton MUST join the Wallaby's second row.

I think the refereeing has been much more cautious since the shake-up, and I don't think they were wrong in this decision. Even if an eye didn't actually get injured, the action itself was needlessly aggressive (I actually thought he was trying to break his nose), and in such cases it's best to err on the side of caution.

I didn't see a headbutt either - looked to me like
O'Donoghue lunged forward and collided into Higgs, the the whole wrestling match started, ending in the gouge.

And it's poor form to blame the referee for your player's misdeed. I know he was upset and caught up in the passion of the moment, but he really should have thought before he put the blame on the ref. The only one who cost the Reds the game was O'Donoghue.
