SANZAR has decided franchises will not be awarded four points during their bye weeks during Super Rugby 2014, it was confirmed on Thursday.

In the past teams had been given four points on the weeks they weren't in action but SANZAR media manager says that has now changed.

"We have listened to feedback and trust this makes it easier for fans to track their team's log progress throughout the #SuperRugby season," he tweeted, with the action starting on Saturday.

Bugger... This is a bit annoying, makes the table less accurate near the top, which is what's important!

I think it's better, now when a team has a bye one can potentially see what they can earn with games in hand

Finally! This whole 4-points-system was ridiculous. You get 4 points for a regular bye, but not for a bye week where only a handful of teams play (like round 1). This just makes sense.

I also see it as sanity prevailing. The 'games played' column just gets some meaning now.

My sentiments exactly!

Finally SANZAR has started listenening!!

What's next?? No more conference system?? I wish...

Lets keep saying it, maybe it'll happen. That and lets hope the new Aussie domestic tournament takes flight so they don't need to piggy-back SR anymore.

yip wanted to post this earlier, means the overall point log will be lower in value
