100% and even if it was a feeder team to Ed and Glas with young guys coming up through and older guys on the way back down it all helps develop players and grow the pool.
There was noises about a Northern team as well.
Cotter got us out of the doldrums eventually but was very measured. Admittedly Gregor has access to players now that Vern didn’t necessarily.
only caught bits of the second half but Scotland seemed to have restored a bit of respect in a game...
Pretty much in agreement with this, it's crazy how one non-try try against France and a very robust Italy have prevented a solid shout at 2nd place for Scotland this year.
Allowing for the population and size of the game up here (comparing to Wales for an example), yes we have some imported...
This
And
History says from a Scotland point of view he has got us over the hoodoos of Twickenham, Stade and Principality one way or another.
Gregor has evolved and changed his methods and staff with moderate improvement, whether he can do it again until the contract ends I don’t know...
Trying to remember the last time I saw McDowell, think he's not bad from memory but not seen for a while - opportunity to show what he can do I hope. Does seem like Fione Huipolotou is the middle 3 that gets Scotland's back 3 scoring, Sione is a big loss and a capable player.
Kinda bored with...
If no one can state the bleeding obvious and the ones who can influence it don't make the changes, there is something very wrong (applies to any team sport)
I'd rather beat Ireland than anyone right now, they are now Scotland bogey team (away) by around a decade. Media and pundits still seem to think beating England is a big thing for us but not any more. I reckon England/Wales matches are a much feistier rivalry than the Calcutta cup.
Short of an early carding to the Irish and maybe a spell of follow up yellow I don't see Scotland winning this either. The best one could realistically hope for is a losing bonus point but I'd welcome more if they are offering!
Interesting one this, not holding much hope for Scotland as I expect a serious backlash from the Irish. Championship ***le to cling onto for Ireland and a very elusive Triple Crown for Scotland should we manage a demi-miracle.
I was also puzzled at why Price was so lack lustre despite hardly being on the pitch very long - the amount of box kicks was a frustration too.
Would have been happier with White benched rather than a full drop, Price was nowhere near where we needed him to be.
Congratulations to Italy very well played and deserved today. Scotland were doing all the right things then for the second time this tournament we let a team back in then ultimately away from us.
, Italy were very good and really the 6 nations needs a strong Italy going forwards.
Big game for Scotland, eyes have to be firmly on 2nd place at least this year. Redpath is a different player to Sione but still a real talent, full strength team and get a decent haul of point please!
