    EPCR Challenge Cup 23/24

Margin of victory? Are you saying this mainly because Gloucester have home advantage?

    EPCR Challenge Cup 23/24

Considering how understrength you were compared to the Ospreys, I think you did well.

How do people fancy their chances against Gloucester?

    EPCR Challenge Cup 23/24

Ospreys make history by winning a European knockout match for the first time ever! Congratulations guys.

    EPCR Challenge Cup 23/24

Was that really forward? I've seen far more ambiguous passes than that - including one of those that led up to Giles' try.

    EPCR Challenge Cup 23/24

I don't see why it was moved to Bridgend - the Swansea Stadium is available this weekend and they could've attracted a good round for such a cruciam match. Had it been in Swansea I might have gone.

Though not so much now. 20-3 following a wonderful interception try. :)

Ospreys struggling against this understrength Sale team. HT 8-3.

    URC 2023/2024 Round 13

LOL. Well actually, Scarlets did win the then Pro 12 in 2017 and Cardiff won the European Challenge Cup a year later.

    URC 2023/2024 Round 13

It really is a sign of the times that you put Welsh opposition in the same category as Italian teams. 🥵

    W6N 2024

It is pretty embarrassing how Wales losing by 46-10 was seen as an achievement for them.

    URC 2023/2024 Round 13

Ospreys did well against Lions. I do hope they keep their top eight place.

New to URC, why are the Welsh teams struggling?

Changes to work patterns and family life, as well as declining numbers of younger people, have all had an impact on playing numbers throughout Wales. (Keep in mind that Wales has among the oldest average age profiles anywhere in the UK).

Is Italian rugby finally coming of age?

Their Under-20's have been doing a lot better in recent years, even if they won't win the U20s 6N or the JWC tournament for a while. Benetton are in the top half of the URC table. The senior team have drawn with France, beaten Scotland, came close to beating England, and have a good chance of...

[2024 Six Nations] England vs Ireland - 09/03/24

Plus also the sheer hypocrisy and dirtiness of the shamateur times, when money would mysteriously appear in players' boots.

[2024 Six Nations] England vs Ireland - 09/03/24

In terms of player behaviour, I would still say it does (just about). It is the off-the-field politics and class structure of rugby that have been really dodgy and where, by comparison, football has been a lot more truly global, democratic and responsive to public opinion.

[2024 Six Nations] Wales vs France - 10/03/24

I was there. Wales' implosion in the final quarter was terrible. Might it be largely explained by all the substitutions, esp the half-backs?

[2024 Six Nations] England vs Ireland - 09/03/24

Ironically, a penalty by one team and a try by another team within four minutes, just like the previous match.

[2024 Six Nations] Italy vs Scotland - 09/03/24

Rather pessimistic, although re Wales I should also add that the years of general mismanagement and underinvestment are now coming home to roost.
