Good read. I think this really sums up the difference and why NZ didn’t win...

Probably makes up for all the years when certain referees were notoriously anti South Africa and officiated accordingly. @Steve Walsh @Romain Poite To name just 2. There were others. Swings and roundabouts me thinks.

Sure. The point being made however is that these games aren’t worth watching. I disagree. I think they are. IE positive mindset.

These are moot points. Outcomes are based on so many fluid variables. Any comparison of this nature really doesn’t hold sway.

I’m not a SA supporter. I’m an England supporter. Not sure who the “your” is that you are referring too. I put rugby first. I’m a purist at heart. I acknowledge and respect the achievement. That’s all.

I watched about 80% of games. As a rugby enthusiast and being passionate about a game I played for 40 years I would suggest this. A person can choose to embrace (positive frame of mind) it or reject ( negative frame of mind) it. I know which one I’m choosing.

For those detractors that bemoan everything about the modern game… Here’s a great stat. RWC 23 delivered 320 tries. 6.7 tries per game average. Where else will you get that level of scoring and entertainment. Certainly not football!

Bill Beaumont looks small compared to these guys. Just shows how much bigger players are these days.

SA 4 wins in 8 tournaments. NZ 3 wins in 10 tournaments that makes their achievement more impressive really.

It’s the nature of the beast. They win. Doesn’t matter how ugly but somehow they have the BMT and know how to eke out a win against better sides.

No question about it. SA have squandered their advantage. Giving the match away.

Please shut the x up with all these comments about refs. Its boring!!! Try commenting on the rugby not the officials.

SA have just strangled the AB’s. It’s a slow painful death.

Unless the passing player deliberately throws the ball into the retreating player to milk a penalty or more.
