England lose 17-14 to SA ... bit of a poor decision by the ref there to award the penalty to SA when the man had not been released!

I reckon Australia are going to take this from us. 
Aus have definately stepped up,
They look way stronger than they have done in the rest of the tournament

I like Baker, but he does seem a ****. That gloating stare was a bit much.
He's got a mullet as well....
Watching that I thought it was well out of order too. Gloating isn't something I like from other nations, so we should try and be above that rubbish.
I'm a sporting curse, when I say we'll win, we lose, when I say we'll lose, we win. So, I'm glad to have jinxed Australia, but after all, they have plenty of gold to enjoy anyhow.

if this wasn't the commenwealth games i would have been backing australia all the way, sometimes it even sounded like the nz commentators wanted australia to win, but those guys have enough medals so i'm happy we got the gold
hosea gear did serve his purpose for the team by drawing in defenders but i don't think he did anywhere near as good as most of us thought he would and the commentators were trying to hype him up so much saying how the 'defenders know the threat he poses' and praising him everytime he caught the ball. but we saw what happened when he was replaced by sevens specialist Sherwin Stowers.
it was an awesome game though and a great final had to laugh at the kiwis singing the song after they won though, sorry guys you're not Fiji you can't sing and it didn't look natural like the islanders do lol
didn't think the refs were that good all tournament either
i was also surprised by how improved Raikabula, DJ Forbes and Tomasi Cama were too, they all looks rejuvenated this tournament

The Australian sevens team are just as retarded as the Wallabies, we always blow leads against New Zealand. Bring on the netty.
Still, you guys kept us on the edge of our seats right up until a minute to go. It was anyone's game.
As for the netball, that'll be damn close, but I think you guys really will pull through there.

appart from locker room celebrations the only teams i've seen sing a song (may have been a hymn idk) were Fiji and Samoa and yes they were much better than the half dead half flat nz. if you like half dead half flat singing well then yeah thats your opinion as you say
compare this with the nz singing...well half of the team anyway, the other half just stood there awkwardly

its part of the nz-australian rivalry, new zealanders hate it when australia celebrate their wins and in their minds australia are cocky as hell, but i realize most of the time it only seems that way to us because we're the opposition. so in response we end up acting like the cocky ******** too. kiwis still haven't forgiven gregan for his "4 more years" remarks in the 03 world cup

He was certainly better towards the beginning of the tornement, but the problem was several things.
1. The defence was all over him. Every time he got the ball there were 2-3 players there to make the tackle, and then fan out.
2. Somthing I really didn't understand, they kept giving him the ball when he was flat footed, so he'd push off one tackler, but not have the momentum and pace to continue to break the line (Stowers is class, but he definetly had much more energy coming on in the last 4 minutes, and he was running into more space, while not being marked).
3. He seemed to be carrying a knee injury, and frankly it seemed he's just run out of steam a little, in the later stages (I don't understand why Stowers wasn't used more frequently, as Gear really shouldn't have started as often as he did). He's a fit player, but he's not a sevens specialist so playing in 35 degree heat I thought was perhaps a bit too sterner challenge (not saying he didn't do well).
I think Gear's performance has to be taken with a grain of salt. He was very influential in the early stages, but his leg injury seemed to take it's toll on his pace. I'd say he was definetly one of several MVP's for the side, but he didn't get very many oppertunities (I think it's worth noting that the man marking him was Lachie Turner).
Raikabula, Forbes, Gear, Stower, Ben Smith (didn't see that coming) as well as Baker could all be up for player of the tornement (I love Cama, but he only really started to fire in the semi finals, and was out for the finals. His kicker was very poor as well).
Was anyone else really impressed with Papa New Guinea? It's times like these I wish I was a selector for big clubs, as there seems to be a lot of great potential in some of the smaller nations that get over looked. Certainly 2 of those PNG players could have been good projects in a NPC team, or even playing in Europe.

great game, I always knew NZ would win they had so much more firepower on the bench and those players were also very experienced
As for bakers gloating, great stuff! Aussies have been piping NZ at the post all the way through these games so it's good to get one up on them. And what else do you expect from a skinny mullet head white kid from the naki?
